Best Album of 2015 To: Put on While Cruising Down Lake Shore Drive at Night

First Bite: “Often”

I don’t think I’ve ever been described as an R&B fan by someone else or even by myself and at first I was hesitant to even give this album a listen. It’s a far and away genre to me but with a strong single like “Can’t Feel My Face” I couldn’t resist seeing what all the fuss was about. So, with a long day at the office ahead of me, I dug right in and never looked back. With fourteen tracks, most of which are over four minutes, it’s an ideal album for when you’re looking for a consistent sound without having to keep clicking through songs on a playlist. The Weeknd made me a believer and he might just have opened the door to exploring more of what this genre has to offer.
