It was no surprise when drummer Nicky Bomba’s four year stint with John Butler Trio came to and end in 2013, that’s just what John does.   Every few years he switches up the talent around him to keep the ides and the sound fresh.  Bomba stuck around to help record the album but was substituted out for Grant Gerathy soon after.

Flesh & Blood has a similar sound to 2010’s April Uprising but manages to expand on the heavy guitar parts that are exemplified in the album’s hard punching highlight “Living in the City”.

As good as the album is, it only shows one side of the group.  Seeing these guys live is a must.  They’re currently on an extensive U.S. tour and if they come to a city near you, find yourself a ticket ASAP.
